3.2 Fan Utility

Exclusive access and rewards

Holding a single athlete token is a membership into an athlete’s inner circle. The specifics of each athlete community vary from athlete to athlete, but VO2 has built-in tools for athletes to let fans vote on decisions, access The Huddle (exclusive behind-the-scenes social media), token-gated marketplaces, and get membership to in-person offerings.

Holding multiple athlete tokens proportionately increases your decision making power (each token corresponds to one vote on athlete decisions) and rewards earned for engagement.

Voting:

• Athletes ask for their token-holding fans’ input for specific decisions

  • These could be structuring a workout, practicing a specific skill, wearing a particular item of merchandise, or getting a temperature check on a major career decision

• Each poll has a date introduced and a date that it expires

  • Between the date introduced and date expiring, fans vote on the decision

• Each athlete token corresponds to one vote, and the results are made public on the expiration date

• Decisions from fans are non-binding, but athletes who don’t follow through might experience decreased engagement or sell pressures from fans

The Huddle:

• The Huddle is VO2’s token-gated social media

• This is a forum for images, media, text updates, or voice clips from athletes to their fans

  • Athletes are free to post content as they see fit, but The Huddle is intended to be a behind-the-scenes social media with updates and information that fans couldn’t find on other platforms

• The Huddle also includes chats for fans to connect with other fans

Merchandise:

• As more athletes launch their own brands, our priority was giving them direct channels to their superfans

• VO2’s token-gated marketplace unlocks tiers of access based on tokens owned Athletes can give their fans early access to new merchandise, and offer exclusive discounts to existing merchandise or affiliate products

• For brands and teams, token-gated marketplaces are a direct channel to the most dedicated fans In the future, we plan to let token holders design merchandise for athletes

We believe that dedicated fans should be rewarded for engagement. After you purchase an athlete’s token, you’re rewarded for every method of interaction – voting on polls, liking/commenting on posts, or purchasing merchandise from an athlete’s exclusive marketplace – through fan points. Fan points differentiate how long fans have been token holders and how frequently fans engage with athletes.

Each fans’ number of fan points are public, and ranked in a leaderboard on each athletes’ page. VO2 and athletes both intend to give unique perks and opportunities to the member’s of each athletes’ community that accumulate the most fan points.

Fan points also govern how the platform token, $OXY, is distributed. More details on the protocol token are in Section 4.2.
