2.3 Why Blockchain

Blockchain is changing the way the web works. Web3 is shifting ownership from centralized organizations (i.e. Facebook, Twitter, and Google) back to content creators and contributors. Similarly, VO2 is leveraging blockchain to let athletes control how they engage with fans. We offer no-code tools for athletes to launch semi-fungible tokens that gate exclusive engagement opportunities. As people trade tokens representing the right to engage with athletes, players generate revenue from initial sales, secondary sales, and transactions within their communities, all while developing a group of token-holding superfans.

This opens a door for athletes to tap into what was already theirs. VO2 creates a decentralized network that returns ownership over reputation back to the athletes, letting athletes keep the profit they make from their career growth and reputation.
